Trønderomat
This is for all the Norwegian-speaking folks out there. “Trønderomat” is a simple web-based application that is fully coded and developed by myself. It let’s your translate from Norwegian (bokmaal) to my local dialect ‘Tr0ndersk’. The application was originally created back in 2016 for Android as part of my studies, and I decided to revive it this year as a fun 10-year anniversary.
Project Overview
The original idea came from the fact that ‘Trøndersk’ can for some, be quite a hard dialect to understand, even for other Norwegians. And I experienced, when I first moved to Oslo, that many people didn’t understand me and that I had to adapt my language to make myself understood. This app was meant as a “fun comment” to this fact, and is not meant as a serious translator by any means.
“If you don’t understand Trøndersk, fear not! There is an app for that”.

The app is currently in “Beta”, and I’m working on my free time to improve the translations. The app is written in React, and if you’re interested in knowing how I built it code, please contact me.
